MedFORCE can be purchased in two
ways: Host your own; or Host
with us.
Host your own
With the "host your own" or
"install" option, you own the
software and it resides on your
server. We help you install
MedFORCE on your server. Because
you own the server you handle
server maintenance and backups.
With this option you purchase
MedFORCE for a one-time fee. A
smaller annual maintenance fee
covers your access to technical
support, software updates, and
ongoing training classes.
Host with us
With the "host with us" or
"MedFORCE Online" option, the
software resides on our servers
and you access it over the
internet. Our servers are
located in a secure and reliable
data center with a high
availability architecture that
maximizes uptime. We take care
of maintenance, upgrades and
backups. With this system you
pay as you go and can cancel at
any time if you wish. Your
monthly or annual fee covers use
of the software, training,
access to technical support and
upgrades.
Which option should I choose?
The main factors to consider
when making your decision are
the different pricing models,
setup and maintenance costs and
your current infrastructure.
-
Pricing models: Installed
software requires a larger
upfront cost but lower
residual cost. Hosted
software requires very
little upfront cost but
higher residual cost.
-
Setup and maintenance costs:
Installed software requires
you to own and maintain a
hosting computer and to set
up and maintain backups.
Maintaining a computer with
software critical to your
business means accounting
for potential server
problems such as hard drives
dying. With hosted software
you pay us to handle
maintaining the servers,
enabling remote access and
backups.
-
Current infrastructure:
Factors to consider: Is it
important to you to keep
your data in your own hands,
or would you consider
hosting your data with an
external vendor? Do you
currently own a computer
with sufficient resources to
host MedFORCE. (MedFORCE is
not very resource intensive
and any server sold today
should handle a large number
of MedFORCE users. Actual
resource requirements depend
on how you use the system).
Do you currently have
employees or contractors
that can handle server
maintenance and backups for
you? With hosted software
you access it over the
internet. How reliable is
your internet connectivity
and can you handle losing
access if your connections
go down?
